Grande Prairie records six new COVID-19 cases, two recoveries

The City of Grande Prairie added six new cases of COVID-19 and two recoveries for Thursday, November 25, bringing the active case total in the Swan City up to 107.

In the County of Grande Prairie, there were eight new cases and one recovery Thursday, raising the active case total there to 86.

As a whole, Alberta added 356 new cases on Thursday, following the completion of 8,701 tests. Those tests resulted in a ~4.1 per cent positivity rate.

Active case totals, as of November 25 among Peace Region municipalities, are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 107 active (+4)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 86 active (+7)
  • MD of Greenview: eight active (+1)
  • Birch Hills County: zero active (-)
  • MD of Spirit River: four active (-)
  • Saddle Hills County: four active (-)
  • MD of Peace: 13 active (-2)
  • MD of Fairview: four active (-)
  • MD of Smoky River: four active (-)
  • Big Lakes County: 11 active (+1)
  • Clear Hills County: zero active (-)
  • County of Northern Lights: 12 active (-)

Across the province, hospitalizations decreased by 10 to 455, with 90 of those patients in the ICU, a decrease of eight from the day prior.

Of those in hospital, 313 are unvaccinated and 122 are fully vaccinated.

In the North Zone, 65 people are in hospital (up one), while seven people are in the ICU (down one).

There were three deaths reported to Alberta Health over the last 24 hours, bringing the provincial death toll to 3,235.

In Grande Prairie, 73.9 per cent of people who are eligible have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine (61.3 per cent of the total population), while 68.4 per cent of the eligible population has been fully vaccinated (56.7 per cent of the total population).

In Alberta, 88.6 per cent of eligible Albertans aged 12 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 83.6 per cent of those eligible are fully vaccinated.
