Man from Grande Prairie man injured in fatal Swan Hills area crash

Nov 26, 2021 | 6:33 PM

Swan Hills RCMP say a man from Ontario died and two people, one of them from Grande Prairie, were injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday.

Police say it happened just after 3 p.m. on November 25 along Highway 32 near the turnoff for the Judy Creek Production Complex.

Mounties say a pick-up heading northbound on the highway crossed the centre line and collided with a southbound pick-up pulling a trailer.

The driver of the northbound truck, a 27-year-old man from Cambridge, Ontario, died at the scene.

The 63-year-old man from Olds driving the other truck, along with a 27-year-old man from Grande Prairie who was a passenger in the same vehicle, were taken to hospital with what police call non-life-threatening injuries.

Whitecourt RCMP Traffic Services and the Alberta Sheriffs also attended the crash.

The names of the people involved will not be released. The investigation continues.
