Grande Prairie company expanding reach into United States

A Grande Prairie company is expanding its reach into Calgary and the southwestern part of the United States.

Big Rig Collision from Grande Prairie recently announced last week that it had acquired the BRC Group out of Calgary along with BRC Coach and Transit in Las Vegas.

This merger will bring together over 100 employees and more than 135,000 square feet of repair facilities.

With business going well and the company growing every day, President of Big Rig Collision Kenton Schultz felt now was the perfect time to expand their companies reach.

“Looking at growth opportunities, we’ve established ourselves in the Grande Prairie market and Peace Country market quite significantly,” he explained. “We’ve been constantly chasing growth and looking to other regions was kind of key in that.”

The BRC companies purchased from Big Rig Collision both focus on motor, coach, truck and transit bus collision, repair and refurbishment.

Schultz says expanding into places like the states will help his team reach more people and help those people get the services they need.

“Las Vegas geographically has a lot of reach through the western U.S. And then between Grande Prairie and Calgary gives us kind of a western North American spread,” he said.

“We can pull in from a lot of the states. The northern states pull up into Calgary and the southern states pull up into the Las Vegas area.”

Big Rig Collision has operated in Grande Prairie and the Peace Region for over 35 years.

Schultz tells EverythingGP, it’s cool to see a company from the Peace Region breaking borders and continuing to grow throughout North America.

“I kind of look this as a cool Grande Prairie success story,” said Schultz. “We hear a lot of companies coming to town and buying out the local Grande Prairie guy. In this case, it’s kind of going the opposite way. Homegrown Grande Prairie business is going out and expanding to the international market.”

The BRC Group says with this expansion, it will serve to raise the industry standard in heavy-duty collision and specialty repair while also enhancing regional coverage and market presence.

This acquisition will help the development of strategic partnerships with customers, vendors and insurance providers, BRC GROUP LTD will be unsurpassed in the industry providing the highest quality repair work, the most efficient turnaround.
