Canada Post issues yellow delivery service alert for Grande Prairie

Canada Post is advising customers in Grande Prairie about potential delays they might see in mail delivery, due to recent weather conditions.

In a statement, Canada Post said they are issuing a yellow delivery service alert for the city as of Thursday, December 2.

A yellow service alert means Canada Post will do their best to deliver residents their mail however, there may be delays because of street and sidewalk conditions in Grande Prairie neighborhoods.

“While we are making every effort to deliver the mail, we continue to put the safety of our employees, the mail and the community first,” said Canada Post in a statement.

Customers can also visit Canada Post’s Delivery service alerts webpage for all active and archived alerts and updates.

Tips to keep the mail people safe include:

  • Remove snow and ice from walkways, driveway, and around the mailbox.
  • De-ice stairs, entrance, and the path to the mailbox, using sand or salt.
  • Keep stairs, handrails, and mailbox free of obstructions, and in good repair.
