Grande Prairie adds four new cases COVID-19, 10 recoveries

The City of Grande Prairie added four new cases along with 10 recoveries for December 1, bringing the active case total in the Sawn City down to 62.

In the County Of Grande Prairie, there were no new cases and 12 recoveries identified, 72 active cases are in that region.

Across the province, Alberta added 349 new cases on the completion of 9,694 tests, resulting in a 3.6 per cent test positivity rate. There are 4,539 active cases in the province.

Active case totals, as of December 2 among Peace Region municipalities, are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 62 active (-6)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 72 active (-12)
  • MD of Greenview: 9 active (-)
  • Birch Hills County: one active (-)
  • MD of Spirit River: four active (-)
  • Saddle Hills County: five active (-)
  • MD of Peace: six active (-2)
  • MD of Fairview: one active (+1)
  • MD of Smoky River: five active (-1)
  • Big Lakes County: eight active (+1)
  • Clear Hills County: one active (-)
  • County of Northern Lights: nine active (-1)
  • Northern Sunrise County: 2 active (-)
  • Mackenzie County: 48 active (+1)

Across the province, hospitalizations dropped to 395, with 78 of those patients in the ICU. Of those in the hospital, 192 are unvaccinated.

In the North Zone, 58 people are in hospital (down one), six of whom are in the ICU (same).

One death was reported as a result of COVID-19, bringing the province’s COVID-19 death toll to 3,258.

In Grande Prairie, 67.2 per cent of eligible Albertans (ages five and older) have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 61.9 per cent of those residents have been fully vaccinated.

In Alberta, 88.9 per cent of eligible Albertans aged 12 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 84.1 per cent of those eligible are fully vaccinated.
