Grande Prairie records three COVID-19 recoveries, one new case

The City of Grande Prairie recorded three COVID-19 recoveries and one new case for December 14. There are currently 46 active cases in the Swan City.

The County of Grande Prairie recorded four recoveries and five new cases for Tuesday. There are 33 active cases in that region.

Alberta added 456 new cases on the completion of 10,100 tests, resulting in a 4.5 per cent test positivity rate. There are 4,082 active cases in the province.

Active case totals, as of December 14 among Peace Region municipalities, are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 46 active (-2)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 33 active (+1)
  • MD of Greenview: zero active (-)
  • Birch Hills County: zero active (-)
  • MD of Spirit River: two active (-)
  • Saddle Hills County: three active (-)
  • MD of Peace: 11 active (-1)

  • Big Lakes County: eight active (-1)
  • Clear Hills County: one active (-)
  • County of Northern Lights: zero active (-2)

Across the province, hospitalizations fell to 362 (down four), with 71 of those patients in the ICU (down one). Of those in the hospital, 167 are unvaccinated, while in the ICU, 51 of the 71 patients are unvaccinated.

In the North Zone, 46 people are in hospital (up one), four of whom are in the ICU (same).

Three new deaths were reported, bringing the province’s COVID-19 death toll to 3,286.

In Grande Prairie, 68.4 per cent of those eligible (ages five and older) have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 62.8 per cent of those residents have been fully vaccinated.

In Alberta, 89.4 per cent of eligible Albertans aged 12 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 85 per cent of those eligible are fully vaccinated.
