Swan Hills Healthcare Centre to be without physician coverage from Dec. 20-24

Alberta Health Services (AHS) says the Swan Hills Healthcare Centre will be without physician coverage from December 20-24. This includes the emergency department (ED).

There will be no coverage at the facility starting at 8 a.m. on Monday and it will last until 8 a.m. on December 24.

Nursing staff will remain on-site in the ED providing triage and assessments, and referrals for patients to alternate EDs in surrounding communities as needed.

Anyone with a medical emergency situation is asked to call 911 for help. EMS calls will be re-routed to nearby sites, including the Westlock, Whitecourt and Slave Lake Healthcare Centers.
