Storm, NWJHL on Christmas break

Grande Prairie Storm

The Storm are on their Christmas break after finishing a four-game road trip during which the team won two games and lost the other two.

Grande Prairie goes into the break sitting last place in the North Division, seven points back of Sherwood Park. The Crusaders have three games in hand on the Storm.

The next game for the Storm will be at home on New Year’s Eve against the Fort McMurray Oil Barons. Faceoff will be at 3 p.m.

NWJHL

The Northwest Junior Hockey League is also in its Christmas break.

The Fort St. John Huskies are in first place with a record of 24-1-1, good for 49 points.

The Sundown Oilfield Services Sexsmith Vipers are second with 32 points. The County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings are third with 25 points. Dawson Creek and Fairview have 24 each, the North Peace Navigators 13.

The NWJHL schedule will resume on January 7.
