Walker over Scheidegger in Edmonton

Laura Walker beat Casey Scheidegger 5-2 in Sunday’s final of the Alberta Curling Series stop at Edmonton’s Avonair Curling Club.

Grande Prairie’s Kristie Moore and Cary-Ann McTaggart are both with the Scheidegger rink.

The Melissa Pierce rink, with Spirit River’s Kelly Erickson at lead, went 1-3 on the tournament.

Al three have qualified for the women’s provincials coming to Grande Prairie from January 3-9.

Epping beats Koe to win in Banff

The men played at the Banff Classic over the weekend.

John Epping beat Kevin Koe 7-5 in the final on Sunday. None of the rinks with Peace Region connections made the playoffs. Evan van Amsterdam went 3-3. Karsten Sturmay 1-3. Dawson Creek’s Tristan Steinke is the third on the Sturmay foursome.

Koe, Sturmay, and van Amsterdam will be at the men’s provincials being played in Grande Prairie at the same time as the women’s.
