Normal Operations to return Jan.4

McLennan ED to be without physician coverage for 96 hours starting Friday morning

Alberta Health Services (AHS) says the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre emergency department (ED) will be without on-site physician coverage for 96 hours starting on Friday at 7 a.m.

Normal operations are expected to return on Tuesday, January 4 at 7:00 a.m.

During the period where physicians will not be on-site, nurses will be available at the ED providing care for inpatients, with one local physician in the community.

All EMS calls during this time will be re-routed to the High Prairie Health Complex, 50 kilometres away.

Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency, and for non-emergency health-related questions, they are asked to call Health Link at 811.
