Albertans to learn latest COVID-19 numbers for first time in over a week

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney and chief medical officer of health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, are to provide an update on COVID-19 later today in the face of a steep spike in cases.
A release says the teleconference at 3:30 p.m. is to include details about ongoing work to protect public health.
Effective yesterday, people in Alberta with at least two doses of vaccine who test positive for COVID-19 need to isolate for five days instead of 10.
Education Minister Adriana LaGrange announced last week that in-person classes for kindergarten to Grade 12 students would be delayed until January 10th.
