Two more Storm home games postponed due to COVID-19 outbreaks

Jan 7, 2022 | 7:11 AM

Local hockey fans will have to wait a little longer before seeing the Grande Prairie Storm return to action on home ice.

The Alberta Junior Hockey League has announced that several members of the Lloydminster Bobcats have contracted COVID-19, which has led to that team’s next five games being postponed.

That includes games slated for January 14th and 15th in Grande Prairie against the Storm.

No new dates have been announced for any of the postponed games, which also include games for the Bobcats on January 7th and 8th in Whitecourt, and January 12th in Drayton Valley.

The Storm also have a game against Fort McMurray that needs to be rescheduled.

Those two teams were supposed to meet on December 31st, but that game was also postponed after several members of the Oil Barons tested positive for COVID-19.
