Nitehawk warning of scammers selling lift tickets

Jan 14, 2022 | 1:30 PM

Nitehawk is warning visitors about potential scammers trying to sell lift and tube zone tickets on their Facebook page and other third-party websites.

Nitehawk General Manager Johnathan Clarkson says this is something they’ve become aware of recently.

“We’ve received a few messages from members of the public and people that live in the region that people were making posts saying they had tickets for sale. After they reached out to people, they found they weren’t real people,” Clarkson explained.

“We just want to make sure our guests aren’t sending money to people that aren’t actually from the region and haven’t actually purchased tickets.”

Clarkson adds lift and tube zone tickets should only be purchased directly from Nitehawk.

“I just want to remind people when they’re making those purchases and (potentially) happen to engage with somebody online, that they do their due diligence, cover themselves, and are not getting scammed,” Clarkson stated.

“We don’t want that to happen. Tickets purchased through our website are guaranteed. Nothing purchased outside of that is guaranteed.”

Because of COVID-19 restrictions, Nitehawk has had to sell tickets in advance this year in order to limit capacity on the hill. Tickets are put on sale to the public four days in advance of your session.

Clarkson reminds people if they do buy a ticket, make sure they can use it since capacity is limited.

“If you’re buying a lift ticket, make sure that you’ve made every effort so you can come for that day,” Clarkson said.

Nitehawk has a ‘no refund’ policy unless there is a cold-weather closure. The hill is sold-out for Friday night.
