Alberta records 15,886 new COVID-19 cases over weekend, local numbers delayed until Tuesday

Alberta recorded 15,886 new cases of COVID-19 from January 14-16, bringing the total number of active cases in the province up to 72,368 (increase of 8,239 since last update).

The province also saw hospitalizations increase by 185 to 1,007, while ICU patients increased by 13 from 81 to 94.

There were 23 more deaths reported by Alberta Health as a result of COVID-19, 3,403 people have now died from COVID-19 in Alberta.

Due to technical issues, the province says it will update all local data tomorrow.
