Jan 30, 2022 | 12:26 PM

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Grande Prairie-Beaverlodge-Valleyview forecast area.

Snow along with strong winds are expected to develop tonight.

It says areas northwest of Edmonton can expect five to 10 centimetres of snow while areas around Edmonton can expect five centimetres.

Wind gusts up to 80 kilometres an hour are also expected.

The Slave Lake, Hinton-Grande Cache, and Whitecourt-Edson-Fox Creek-Swan Hills forecast areas alo have these statements in place.

Environment Canada is also predicting freezing rain for some parts of central Alberta while the southern foothills might also see 10 centimetres of snow.
