County advising motorists to drive with caution following rapid snowmelt
Feb 10, 2022 | 12:05 PM
The County of Grande Prairie is advising motorists to watch for water on roadways across the region.
It says the warm weather has led to rapid snowmelt, which has led to large amounts of pooling and running water on roads throughout the region.
Motorists are asked to avoid crossing where water is flowing over the roadway. If there is no choice, drivers are asked to proceed with crossing.
Anyone who encounters flooding in the county is asked to contact the Public Works 24-hour Emergency Line at 780-532-7393. Public Works crews are addressing problem areas as they are identified, and additional equipment has been contracted to assist.
