City contracting crews to remove residental ice next week
Feb 11, 2022 | 5:45 PM
The City of Grande Prairie says it will be contracting crews next week to remove ice from residential areas.
The city says these steps are being implemented in response to the abnormal freeze/thaw cycles currently being experienced in Grande Prairie, which has led to icy road and sidewalk conditions.
Crews will follow the same schedule assigned for residential snow removal, however, the schedule could be adjusted depending on the weather and the speed of the operations.
Crews are currently removing ice from select roads in residential areas of highest need and will continue to do so over the weekend. They are also opening catch basins, thawing culverts, and ensuring melting snow is able to enter the stormwater system.
