Grande Prairie RCMP have charged two people with drug trafficking after a traffic stop in Clairmont.

Mounties say they were conducting patrols in an industrial area around 11:30 p.m. on January 21 when they pulled over what they believed to be a suspicious vehicle.

One of the officers recognized the male passenger and believed he was someone who was violating a release order.

Police seized 15.6 grams of cocaine, eight grams of methamphetamine, 2.4 grams of fentanyl, $200 cash, plus other items related to selling drugs.

Forty-four-year-old Floyd Bradley Dick of Clairmont and 27-year-old Brandi Lyn Steidel of Grande Prairie are each facing three charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Dick is also facing three counts of failure to comply with a release order.

Dick has been remanded. Steidel is out on a release order.

Both are due in Grande Prairie court February 23.
