Lacrosse is back for 2022
The Grande Prairie Lacrosse Association says registration is open for the upcoming season. This includes all age groups.
Association president Ron Reginer says it is exciting to be back
“The kids have been itching to get back out there. The coaches have been itching to get back out there.”
“It will be our first actual season that we will be able to get some gameplay in and some consistency in the last two years. It’s really exciting for the lacrosse community.”
Reginer describes the lacrosse community in Grande Prairie as “small but very passionate” and it has “really been missing our game.”
Reginer adds no games the last couple of years means it was hard for kids to stay motivated
“To come out to practice, knowing that they weren’t going to get out and play any games.”
“Those years are behind us. That is the hope at least. We’re just ready to get back to something a little more normal. We’ve already committed to the Edmonton league that we want to (join) for games so they are already starting to schedule us in for those.”
