Manning RCMP employee presents Quilt of Valour to local Veteran
A Manning RCMP Public Servant employee has presented a Quilt of Valour, which she made herself, to a local Veteran.
Raylene Landry, who is also a representative of the Quilts of Valour Canada, gave the quilt to local Veteran Jean (Johnny) Daigle back on January 27. Members of the Manning RCMP and Manning Legion Branch also attended to honour Daigle.
The organization started in Canada back in 2006 and worked to provide quilts to injured Canadian Armed Forces members who returned from deployment in Afghanistan
The program has since grown to gain more volunteer quilters. To date, 18,230 quilts have been presented on behalf of the organization across Canada.
