A First Nation northwest of Edmonton is to release findings today of a search for unmarked graves at a former residential school.

Kapawe’no First Nation has said the search at the Grouard Indian Residential School, also known as the St. Bernard Mission School, is crucial to its healing.

The school was opened by the Roman Catholic Church in 1894 and closed about 60 years ago, it was located near High Prairie.

A release to EverythingGP says the study will reveal “painful findings.”
