The Grande Prairie RCMP are looking for help locating a stolen vehicle and male suspect following a series of stolen vehicle reports Monday in Grande Prairie.

Original version:

On March 7 at roughly 8:30 a.m. RCMP responded to a report of a truck stuck in a ditch in the area Range Road 94 and Township Road 734 in Beaverlodge. Following a preliminary investigation, police determined the truck had been reported stolen out of Grande Prairie earlier that morning, at roughly 6:15 a.m.

While on scene, officers located a female and male with the truck, where authorities arrested the female on foot however the male fled the scene on foot. Mounties pursued the male who returned to the area of the stolen vehicle and subsequently drove away with an unsecured police vehicle.

At roughly 9:00 a.m. that same day, the RCMP was notified of a police vehicle had been stolen and was travelling towards Grande Prairie.

Reports to police said the vehicle was driving near the area of the Grande Prairie Airport. Officers along with the assistance of RCMP Police Dog Services attended the scene.

While on scene, authorities say the male continued driving the police vehicle, before eventually driving off the road in the area of 123 Street and 109 Avenue in Grande Prairie. Police say the male suspect then exited the police vehicle and fled from mounties on foot.

Authorities say the police vehicle was recovered and all equipment in the police vehicle remained locked up and has been accounted for.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., Grande Prairie RCMP were notified the male allegedly stole another vehicle, which had been located in the area of 121 Street and 104 Avenue in Grande Prairie.

The vehicle is described as a blue 2017 Dodge Ram welding truck with Alberta licence plate CGW 8839, and was last seen travelling Eastbound on Emerson Trail, near Sexsmith.

The male suspect was last seen wearing blue overalls or coveralls, a ball cap and a black sweater.

The Grande Prairie RCMP are continuing to look for both the vehicle and the suspect.
