Powell rink falls just short of Alberta mixed title

The Graham Powell rink from Sexsmith finished second at the provincial mixed curling playdowns over the weekend.

The Powell rink, which includes Janais DeJong, Daylan Vavrek, and Rae-Lynn Beattie went 7-0 during the round-robin to earn a berth directly into Sunday’s final.

However, they would drop the championship game 8-7 in an extra end to Morgan Muise of Calgary.
