RCMP investigating human remains found in Grande Prairie

The Grande Prairie RCMP General Investigation Section is investigating an incident that led to human remains being found in Grande Prairie on Thursday.

On March 24, just after 8:05 p.m., police received a report of human remains located in the snow in the area of 102 Street and 92 Avenue.

Mounties say the circumstances surrounding the death of this individual are unknown at this time.

Authorities are expected to be on scene over the weekend and ask the public to avoid the area while the investigation continues.

Investigators do not believe there is any threat to public safety as it relates to this death.
