New family physician practising in Fairview

Apr 18, 2022 | 2:15 PM

Families in Fairview and the surrounding area now have another doctor practising out of the Fairview Medical Clinic and Fairview Health Complex.

Dr. Saad Almanfoud, a family medicine physician is joining a team of four other physicians in the town.

“Primary care is an integral part of the healthcare system and I am thankful for AHS and the local community working together to secure Dr. Almanfoud’s sponsorship. With his arrival, families in the area will now have more access to the healthcare services they need, including emergency care,” Health Minister Jason Copping expressed.

“Alberta’s government is proud to support opportunities such as these, with $90 million in Budget 2022 dedicated to rural recruitment and retention efforts.”

Alberta Health Services is actively searching for doctors to practise in northern Alberta communities to meet health care needs, with physician resource planners pursing international and domestic recruitment.

Physician resource planners also work with local Health Advisory Councils, the Rural Health Professions Action Plan, and independent physician attractions and retention committees to source medical professionals.
