Emergency department temporary closure at Central Peace Health Complex

Alberta Health Services says the emergency department will be closed at the Central Peace Health Complex from 7 p.m. Thursday night until 7 a.m. Friday morning.

This is the third such closure at the Spirit River hospital this week.

AHS says people should still call 911 in an emergency. EMS calls will be rerouted to the Fairview Health Complex, Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, or the Valleyview Health Centre.

Anyone with a non-emergency health question can call 811, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

AHS says in a release it is grateful to other healthcare centres and their staff for the support to the community as well as its patience and understanding.
