DREAM HOME LOTTERY

Late push in ticket sales leads to successful end of Dream Home Lottery

Apr 27, 2022 | 11:45 AM

Wednesday night is the Rotary Dream Home lottery prize draw.

It will take place at 7 pm at the dream home located in Taylor Estates, and the public is encouraged to come out and watch the draw take place live.

Ticket sales wrapped up at midnight on Sunday, with 89 percent of tickets sold, a sharp improvement from where they were sitting going into the final weekend of sales, and down only slightly from last year’s totals.

In a release, lottery manager Melissa Coulombe said the final day on Sunday saw record-breaking sales.

She adds the 50/50 grew by $100,000 over the final days of ticket sales to end at approximately $535,000, with the winner getting half of that prize amount.

This year’s dream home is built by Monarch homes, and valued at $1.4 million.

Proceeds from the lottery go to support 11 local not-for-profit groups, as well as several projects in the area supported by Rotary.
