Familiar faces of the Peace Wapiti Public School Division will be taking new leadership roles in the 2022-23 academic year.

Bezanson School will have Mr. Stephen Clark as their new principal. Mr. Clark is currently the Assistant Principal at Helen E Taylor School in Wembley. He has spent his entire education career with the PWPSD, previously teaching at Rycroft School for two years and Spirit River Regional Academy for seven.

In a statement, Mr. Clark said he’s excited for the opportunity to be a part of student success within the school and build relationships between the school and community.

Penson School in Grovedale will welcome Mrs. Nicole Gillies, who has been teaching in the division for the past 14 years, as their new principal in the fall. Mrs. Gillies is currently teaching at Whispering Ridge Community School and finishing her Masters of Education in Leadership and Administration.

“I’m looking forward to building relationships with the families and staff of Penson School!” Gillies said in a statement. She has previously taught at Teepee Creek School, Robert W. Zahara, Sexsmith Secondary School, PAVE, and WRCS.

Ms. Robyn Lieverse is the incoming principal at Wembley Elementary School. Ms. Lieverse has been with the PWPSD for eleven years, spending ten of those at Robert W. Zahara.

Lieverse said in a statement says she is looking forward to her new role but will miss the Sexsmith Community. “I greatly enjoyed my time at R.W.Z. and although I will miss the students, staff, and the larger Sexsmith Community, I am looking forward to getting to know the staff and students at Wembley Elementary School and connecting with the community.”
