Local educators recognized with Rotary Excellence in Education awards

Earlier this week, the Saan City Rotary club handed out their 2022 Excellence in Education, Service Above Self award to numerous recipients.

Local educators and volunteers were recognized for enriching the lives of others.

Eight people from the Grande Prairie and District Catholic School division were recognized, including:

– Shayla Turner (Mother Teresa)

– Ashley Douglas (Mother Teresa)

– Adrienne Fehr (Ecole St Gerard)

– Pamela Martin (St Joe’s High school)

– David Banks (St John Paul II High school)

– Paula Przybynski (St Catherine)

– Dawn Kuz (St. Mary in Beaverlodge)

– Zach Ewing (St. Mary’s in Sexsmith)

Ten award recipients came from schools in the Grande Prairie Public school district. They include:

– Spencer Pinnock (Hillside)

– Christina Lieske (Maude Clifford)

– Bernie Spicer (Crystal Park)

– Heather Seeley (Charles Spencer)

– Cecile Henley (Derek Taylor)

– Allison Hill (Ecole Montrose)

– Florencio Joven (Parkside Montessori)

– Jake Roberts (Roy Bickell)

– Lynn Vanderveen (Avondale)

– Krista Umble (Isabel Campbell)

And three teachers from Robert W. Zahara school five volunteers from other Peace Waiti Public schools were also recognized. They include:

– Charlene Brown (Robert W. Zahara)

– Alycia Jamison (Robert W. Zahara)

– Dylan Toews (Robert W. Zahara)

– Cheryl Hodges (Whispering Ridge)

– Shellene Schur (Whispering Ridge)

– Shara Skea (Whispering Ridge)

– Connie Melnyk (Bonanza)

– Kim Gravengard (Peace Wapiti Academy)
