Pedestrian killed in Fort St. John

Fort St. John RCMP say a pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon

It happened just before 1:30 pm at the intersection of 96 Street and 96 Avenue in Fort St. John.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with what police described as life-threatening injuries and in critical condition, but later died.

Police say the driver remained on scene and was cooperative with police. Mounties have ruled out impairment as a cause.
