Wildfire hazard set at moderate in GP region prior to long weekend

The wildfire danger in the Grande Prairie Forest Management area is listed as Moderate going into the long weekend.
Since the start of wildfire season on March 1st, there have been eight wildfires in the Grande Prairie area – 7 of which have been extinguished and one that is listed as under control.
The province reminds the public to use caution in areas of dead or dry grass.
And with this being the long weekend, you are reminded to make sure all campfires are extinguished completely, using the soak, stir, and soak again method.
