Mounties say four people are facing charges after a stolen property investigation that started in early April led to the recovery of several items from a rural property near Demmitt.

The Western Alberta District Crime Reduction unit says a stolen pick-up was recovered during a search of the property on Sunday.

Another search on Monday turned up two more trucks, what police call a small quantity of fentanyl, a rifle, six industrial batteries, and a skid steer loader.

52-year-old Andrew Martin Chopp of Dawson Creek and 35-year-old Jennifer O’Neil Cardinal of Demmitt are facing charges that include two of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, possession of a controlled substance, unauthorized possession of a firearm and altering a vehicle identification number.

They are also jointly charged with 57-year-old Richard Patrick Hamilton of Demmitt and 63-year-old Edward Donald Phillip Haggart of Pouce Coupe with one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and two more of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.

All four have been released after hearings. Chopp and Cardinal are due in Grande Prairie court June 15, Hamilton and Haggart are due in court August 10.
