Graduation day for four Peace region high schools

Friday is a big day for grade 12 students at four high schools in the Grande Prairie and surrounding area.

It is graduation day for students at Charles Spencer High school, with cap and gown ceremonies beginning at 10 am at Bonnett’s Energy Centre, the Grand March taking place at 7 pm and a dance to follow.

Approximately 230 students are set to receive their diplomas.

Meanwhile, three high schools in the Peace Wapiti public school district are also holding graduation ceremonies.

83 students are set to graduate from Beaverlodge Regional High school, with cap and gown ceremonies set to begin at 10 am at the school gymnasium, followed by the Grand March at 4 pm and a parade at 5:30 pm.

Cap and gown ceremonies for Sexsmith Secondary school will begin at 10 am as well at the school gym, with graduates taking part in a Grand March parade down Main street in Sexsmith beginning at 7.

96 students are set to graduate from Sexsmith secondary.

And 34 students from Spirit River Regional Academy are set to graduate.

Cap and gown ceremonies will take place at 12:30 pm in their school gymnasium, with a Grand March to follow afterward.
