Public info sessions planned for residents in annexation area

May 31, 2022 | 11:54 AM

The city has a series of information sessions planned for next week for residents in what is called the Rural Service Area.

These are areas that were annexed from the County of Grande Prairie by the city back in 2016, but are still currently regulated by County bylaws.

Phase one of the project – which was completed last month – included adding rural standards and land use districts to the City’s Land Use Bylaw.

Now, the city is in the midst of rezoning these properties from the County bylaw to equivalent districts in the city.

Information sessions to update residents in these areas about the process will be held June 7th from 6-7 pm at the Olde Barn Hall at Country Roads RV Park, and on June 8th from 5-7 pm at Crystal Creek Hall.

An online meeting via Zoom will also be held on June 9th from 7-8 pm.
