St. Joe’s Celtics name new Head Coach

Jun 1, 2022 | 5:07 PM

A former St Joseph student, football player, and coach is the new head coach for the St. Joe’s Celtics football team.

Aaron Wales was a Celtic under Trevor Prichard during his tenure at St Joe’s, graduating in 2016 and taking his talents south, playing a year of junior football with the Edmonton Huskies.

In 2017 he returned to St Joe’s, joining the coaching staff for the Celtics while finishing his Bachelor of Education at the University of Alberta.

Wales discussed how appreciative he is to his own mentor and previous football coach, Trevor Prichard.

“Trevor approached me about the job, and we talked about it on and off, knowing that it was going to be a long-term commitment. He is there for anything I need, and great for bouncing ideas off of. I am excited to jump in and make things happen,” said Wales in a news release.

Wales is set to kick off his teaching career and his new job as head coach in the fall.
