No doctor coverage for most of Thursday in Emergency Department of Central Peace Health Complex

The emergency department at the Central Peace Health Complex in Spirit River will be without physician coverage beginning at 8 am Thursday, until 7:30 pm.

Nurses will remain on-site in the emergency department to provide triage and assessments, and to refer patients to emergency departments in neighbouring communities.

Patients needing urgent medical care are encouraged to still call 911, with those calls being rerouted by EMS to facilities in Fairview, Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge, and Valleyview.

Residents are also reminded to call HealthLink at 811 for non-emergency health-related questions.
