Dye shortage forces AHS to postpone some imaging procedures

Jun 10, 2022 | 4:29 PM

Alberta Health Services says it will be postponing 1500 imaging procedures a week.

This is because of a worldwide shortage of the dye used in angiograms and CT scans.

The special dye makes body parts like blood vessels show up better in the image taken.

AHS says in a release the shortage is temporary and procedures will only be delayed if it is clinically safe.
