Wildfire hazard downgraded to moderate in GPFA

The wildfire hazard is now rated moderate in the Grande Prairie Forest Area.

There is no fire advisory in place, but fire watchers are reminding people burning is not permitted in windy conditions.

They are also reminding everyone planning to do burning, other than a campfire, must have a permit.

These permits can be obtained online or at any local forestry office.

Since March 1, the Grande Prairie Forest Area has had 22 wildfires that have burned just over eight hectares. All are out.
