New jobs board website launched solely for Grande Prairie area

Jun 24, 2022 | 11:36 AM

A Grande Prairie resident with a background in H-R and recruitment has created a new website that she hopes will better meet the needs of both employers and job seekers in the Grande Prairie region.

Dagny Guy is the owner of jobsingp.ca.

She says through her past experiences, she has found that other job board sites simply did not satisfy her needs or the needs of her clients.

“They can be very expensive. You can get a lot of candidates, but not necessarily local candidates. It was just something that I thought we could do better here.”

“Grande Prairie is such an incredible community, and I think we have a great opportunity to really focus on local talent and local jobs.”

She adds jobsingp.ca will address some of those concerns.

“Our smallest package starts at $25 for a 30-day job posting, which is really reasonable. There are no additional fees on top of that.” says Guy.

“And then on top of that, we have different packages and different service offerings. One of the things that we offer in our platinum package, for instance, is the ability to seamlessly integrate with our one-way and two-way video interviewing software.”

She adds unlike other online job boards, jobsingp.ca will focus solely on jobs in the Grande Prairie region.

Guy says the website has been up and running for a few days already, and the response so far has been positive.

“We are accepting candidates and we are accepting jobs. So far we have a couple of employers who have posted jobs, and we have a number of other employers that have registered their accounts so hopefully, they will start posting soon.”

“So far with the analytics of our traffic, it looks like 67 per cent of our traffic right now is job seekers. So it is a great time for employers to start getting their postings on there.” says Guy.

Businesses can sign up and start posting job opportunities by clicking on the employer tab on the website.

Guy is also excited that 10 per cent of all of their profits will be donated back to local causes and groups.

“We have set it up so that we will accept requests throughout an entire quarter, and at the end of every quarter we will take a look at what our profits are and then distribute them as best as we can.”

“We do have a few causes that are very close to our hearts, with mental health and suicide prevention among those at the top. Sports teams and groups like that are very important. Some of the things that we have utilized over the years growing our family here.” added Guy.
