Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation hosting tree planting ceremony

International Paper is donating $100,000 worth of trees and shrubs to the Key to Care Capital Campaign.

The campaign was started in 2015 to raise money for the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation and recently surpassed it’s goal of $20 million.

The plants will be used to help bring life to three courtyard and garden spaces:

• Cancer Unit Courtyard
• Indigenous Garden
• Mental Health Unit Courtyard

Additionally, some areas of the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital will get new greenery.

The spaces are essential for a patient’s experience and recovery giving patients and family members a chance to escape or reflect.

The tree planting ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, outside of the hospital.
