The Old Bypass Construction will continue July 7

The Old Bypass Construction will continue Tuesday, July 7, on 100 Street from 116 Avenue to 128 Avenue.

The City inherited the Old Bypass from Alberta Transportation in 2019 and was provided $20 million in the exchange.

Construction will consist of storm infrastructure removal and replacement, concrete removals, and installation, along with road and area upkeep with line painting, and landscaping.

During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane north and southbound.

The City is adding a third lane to 100 Street southbound from north 124 Avenue to the north of 116 Avenue.

Sidewalk closures and detours are expected.

Workers are anticipated to work Monday to Saturday and construction is expected to be finished by October 2022.
