Fire crews are responding to a structural fire at the north end of Peace River

Peace Regional RCMP closed its investigation of a structural fire in Peace River at 12:05 p.m. on July 3.

The investigation was determined to be an accidental kitchen fire, RCMP advise anyone who has been affected by this fire to contact the town of Peace River or RCMP Victim Services at 780-624-6677.

Peace River RCMP responded to a report of a structure fire at 12:05 p.m. Sunday, July 3 in the area of 83 Avenue and 98 Street in Peace River.

The fire has been contained but it is not yet under control. The building has been evacuated safely and there are no reports of injuries.

Peace River RCMP is asking residents to stay away from the north end of town to give emergency crews room to operate.

The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation at this time, Peace River RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance with any information related to this fire.
