Grande Prairie Airport not facing issues faced by recent travellers at larger Canadian airports

Jul 5, 2022 | 12:41 PM

It is business as usual at the Grande Prairie Airport, in spite of issues such as long lineups and missed or cancelled flights that are plaguing similar facilities in larger cities.

“I am pleased to say that we are starting to recover from COVID,” says William Stewart, director of terminal services at Grande Prairie Airport. “We have been working with the airlines and the number of passengers has been increasing. And, along with that, the number of flights has been increasing at the Grande Prairie Airport as well.”

Stewart admits that they are hearing concerns from travellers about going through some of the larger airports.

“What I can say is that if you transitioning from one flight to another and not departing from there, things seem to be running fairly smooth. And I am especially pleased to say that with Grande Prairie being a slightly smaller airport, we do not see the big lineups and issues that they are seeing at the bigger centres.”
