Grande Prairie RCMP arrest local after single vehicle collision

Grande Prairie RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision on Saturday, July 23, around 8:30 a.m. on Range Road 74 and Highway 59.

Their investigation found that the truck had been stolen overnight in Grande Prairie.

The driver of the stolen truck reportedly fled the scene on foot but was located and arrested a short time later hiding in a vehicle on a property in the area.

During a search, Mounties uncovered a stolen wallet, numerous stolen financial institution cards, two grams of meth, two knives, and a can of bear spray.

Eighteen-year-old Chase Glodek of Grande Prairie has received multiple charges, including:

  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Mischief over $5,000
  • Possession of Property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession of Property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Five counts of failure to comply with a release order

Following a judicial interim release hearing, Glodek was released from custody to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court, on August 10.
