Record breaking heat in Grande Prairie this week

On Wednesday and Thursday, Grande Prairie saw the highest temperatures recorded since 1942!
32.9 degrees Celsius was reached on Wednesday, beating the previous record of 29.2 degrees Celsius in 2009.
Thursday was the hottest day, hitting 35.2 degrees Celsius and surpassing the previous record set in 2010 of 29.0 degrees Celsius.
The heat warning issued by Environment Canada is still in effect for the Grande Prairie region and temperatures are expected to ease on Saturday, July 30.
