An early Monday morning high-speed chase in the city led to two people being sent to hospital.

Grande Prairie RCMP say they attempted to pull over a vehicle at around 2 am Monday in the area of 96th street and 116th avenue.

The suspect vehicle, which had previously fled from police back on July 22nd, took off again at a high speed.

After a short chase, the vehicle crashed into a police cruiser near 102nd street and 107th avenue.

Both the driver of the car and the officer in the cruiser were sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

21-year-old Kolten Weaver of Grande Prairie has been remanded into custody and has an August 8th appearance in Grande Prairie provincial court.

He faces two counts of flight from police, and one count each of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, operating a motor vehicle while prohibited, and breaching probation.
