Mobile mammography unit in Spirit River area this month

Alberta Health Services Screen Test mobile breast cancer screening unit will be stationed in Spirit River and Savannah this August.

The mammography services will be available for women in northern Alberta where facilities are not located near them.

On August 15-18 and 22-23, the mobile mammography trailer will be at the Central Peace Health Complex.

On August 24, the unit will be at the Savanna Agricultural Society Rec Plex.

Women aged 50-74 are the most at-risk group for developing breast cancer and a mammogram has been proven to be the most effective way of detecting cancer.
