88 Street construction postponed

Update:

Due to material delays, the contractor has informed the City of Grande Prairie that the 88 Street construction will have to be postponed.

The project will begin later in “construction season” on an undecided date.

However, 88 Street from 132 Avenue to Lakeland Drive is now re-open for drivers to use.

The City of Grande Prairie has closed a section of 88 Street from 132 Avenue to Lakeland Drive until Wednesday, August 10.

The street has been closed to allow crews to replace the storm pipe and catch basin.

Crews will also tie the system into the new Kingsgate Landing Development during this time period.

Traffic is being detoured to 92 Street and drivers are asked to watch for workers and posted signs in construction zones.
