Firefighters wanted in County of Grande Prairie and Sexsmith

The County Regional Fire Service and the Sexsmith Fire Department are looking to hire paid responders.

In order to apply, you must live within a 15-minute drive from the County Regional Fire Services (Bezanson, Hythe, La Glace, and Teepee Creek) and Sexsmith stations.

The Wembly Fire Department is also looking to welcome in more volunteers to fill out their ranks.

Paid and volunteer responders will receive professional training that is transferable all over the world.

District Fire Chief Bryan Hall, said in a news release: “Paid and volunteer responders are regular people who want to help their communities. They come from all walks of life and are looking to make a difference.”

Also, local youth between the ages of 16 – 18 interested in becoming a firefighter can apply to the Junior Firefighter Program.
