Former QEII Hospital building still being put to good use
After being retired of hospital duties in December 2021, Grande Prairie’s Queen Elizabeth II Hospital is now known as the QEII Ambulatory Care Centre.
Alberta Health Services says although many health care services have transferred over to the new Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, the former site still hosts dialysis, community-based respiratory and rehabilitation programs, and Mackenzie Place continuing care.
Other programs that support those services, such as Environmental Services, and Nutrition and Food Services are also housed at the site.
AHS said in a statement to Everything GP; “AHS continues to review all leased space in Grande Prairie alongside current service demands to ensure that all services are provided in the most appropriate location and we are making best use of our available infrastructure.”
